Origami Blows My Mind

This viral video is nuts! If nothing else, I am truly convinced of the artistic relevance of stop motion.

Swoon VIdeo

I posted something about this when she and her "Swimming Cities of the Switchback Sea" crew were making their way down the Hudson. Swoon is amazing. Her concepts are both romantic and beautifully surreal. I would love nothing more than join her in on her pirate escapades as we sail into the sunset.

Connor Harrington @ New Art Gallery Walsall

This artist absolutely boggles my mind. Graffiti realism, or a mixture of both, at its best. This guy is real. He has can control, real can control, and his paintings have a feel of classical painting. I love it. you will too! I know you will. Check him out here.

Balloon Panzer

A balloon tank that deflates over the course of the show. Awesome concept speaking to the eventual fall of military might. I came across this today- not sure who the artist is.

Dial Seven Digits- Call Up Bridget

Jasper Wong at Subtext

I checked out Jasper Wong's opening tonight at Subtext and it was well worth it. His cartoonish doodling is very impressive up close, and his technique using print and ink has its own surreal look that you just have to see in person. He'll be showing here in San Diego until Jan 11. I never cease to be amazed at the talent in our local shows.

Elbow-Toe at Thinkspace

Elbow-Toe kills. What else is there to say? His new paintings are evolving. Its bigger and better than before. its absolutely amazing to watch him evolve.  Apparently one of these weighs 250lbs. show opens tonight in LA. goes until Jan 2.

Harold and the London Police

when i saw this on the internet today, the first thing i thought of was the london police. what do you think?? its harold, the childrens book from 1955. anyhow, if you havent heard of them, the london police are sick! there is something about their perfect characters that really stand out to me.

Powder Blue Suit I Love You

these guys are insane- with class though. but what insane person isnt? i saw an old man walking down the street the other day talking to himself. the thing was- he was holding his hand over his mouth. my brother told me that he really wasnt insane because he knew that talking to himself was not the social norm (hence the hand) and, that he was aware of that fact, made him sane. i told him, "bro, its an old man fucking talking to himself with his hand over his mouth! hes obviously a fucking loon!" call me nuts.

Sorry No Posts

Apparently the people that i was stealing wireless internet moved a while back and did not consider the effect that it would have on my general wellbeing I have moved so i hope to get back into the swing of things and post some of my new stuff as well.

this photo was taken last night. since then, the balls have been restored to their original luster.

Jose Parla at Elms Lester in London

i love this guy. he is one of my biggest influences. i love the layers and layers of graf. his style is elegant and dirty at the same time. he amazes me and im glad to see him breaking more and more into the international scene. jose parla kills. check his site and be amazed.

Banksy- Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill

just as i thought. the new murals banksy paid to have done in ny were adverts for his new show. this time animatronics are the hype. peep the vids. the concept of this show in pretty cool, but still- a media company to paint your murals?? on rented walls??

"Damn Rats" -Katsu Gets His Wall Back

apparently this was done over a huge extinguisher katsu tag and katsu came to take his spot back. from what i hear, it also says "to all the real night creatures" just to the right. if you look closely, they tried to pacify him with a small peace katsu at the bottom left.

Dave the Chimp Says...

Banksy in New York

put up in ny, apparently by a media company, hired by banksy? i would guess that hes working on his 3rd "secret show" this time in the big apple and this is a publicity stunt. i was at his show last year in la. sick. but seriously hiring a media company?? wow, a true guerilla artist. give me a break bansky.

D*face Apocalypse Now

D*face killing it again in london. black rat press through the weekend. he just keeps getting better and better.

Mankind is No Island

jason van genderen made this movie entirely on a cell phone winning 20,000 at tropfest. apparently it took on $57 to make. its sad, but hopeful. makes me want to hold myself a little bit.

Old School Brooklyn Storefronts

the brooklyn historical society is showcasing, "the disappering face of brooklyn's storefronts," a new exhibit that documents the rapidly declining amount of mom and pop stores. historical perspective is just another reason to apprecite the urban deacy that i am obssesed with. i think somebody should have an exhibit on the mispelling of signs in bkln. when i lived there, i rented movies from winter wideo for years.

Do Not Read!

just came across somthing, and i wanted to intentionally not post it. the only reason im even writing this is so that everyone knows what a chump i think he is. when you dont even make your artwork anymore or really dont even come up with new ideas anymore- then you my friend, are not an artist. you are an interior designer. you are washed up. kick rocks jeff koons.

More Photorealism

more photorealism by adam stennett. this stuff is awesome! i love the realistic way that he paints water. dreaming about water is supposed to symbolize spirituality, and i couldnt agree more with stennett that spirituality is just a bottle of cough syrup away. ha! check his site for larger photos.

Electro Giraffe Work in Progress

something new im working on.

Swoon' Swimming Cities of the Switchback Seas

no less than seven floating vessels are making their way down the hudson, to finally dock at Deitch Pojects for swoons second major installation. she has teamed up with a famous playwright and the band dark, dark, dark and they are stopping along the way to perform for communities along the water. swoon never ceases to amaze me. more information here.

new stuff from chile. awesome. thats all spraycan, all the time, baby.

Graff Vans

i absolutely love the talent and time that it takes to create photorealism paintings. now, if that just happens to be a van, and that van just happens to have some graff on it, then im pretty much freaking out. maybe its the fact that i lived in brooklyn, where every van looks like this, but this represents a real side of society that i do see as picturesque, and beautiful. kevincyr has a lot of work and  his site will keep you busy for hours.
